Rod Lincoln

Rod Lincoln has made his lifelong passion his career for 30 years, playing drums and percussion as a studio musician on hundreds of albums and thousands of national commercials, as well as writing, playing on, and producing music for hundreds of corporate videos.

Besides being a “player” in the recording world for many years, Rod has extensive experience as a sought-after recording engineer. He is an expert at all styles of drumming and in addition to his recording experience, currently plays in many local jazz, rock, Latin, R&B, and country groups, as well as high-energy groups such as “Full Disclosure” and the professional percussion ensemble “Sticks of Thunder,” both of which perform around the country for numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Rod has recorded and toured with the nationally popular progressive rock band Shooting Star and was featured in the song “Touch Me Tonight” which reached #2 on MTV’s top 10 countdown, and #40 on Billboards Hot 100. Shooting Star has also toured with the following bands: Journey, Heart, Styx, REO Speed wagon, Kansas, Richard Marx, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Bad English, Cheap Trick, and Night Ranger.  Additionally, he toured with British Rock hit-makers Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits.

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in percussion performance, with many years of teaching experience. He is a published author with Leigh Howard Stevens/Studio 4 publications, having written two drum set solo’s,” Moods for Interaction,” and “Fantasy for Drums,” the latter which was commissioned for the Percussive Arts Society World Drum set solo contest.
